Our fall schedule for November and December includes:

INTRODUCTION TO HAND SEWING: DOLLS AND STUFFED ANIMALS
Instructor: Louise Seamster
Description: Learn to sew by creating unique toys and art dolls for yourself, or to give as gifts. You can reuse clothes and fabric to make something new and beautiful. Use existing patterns or stretch your imagination to make up your own. This 4-week class is for all levels of experience. Scrap Exchange materials are included—your own materials and supplies are welcome, too.
Date: Wednesdays, November 4, 11, 18, and December 2
Time: 6:30-8:30pm
Cost: $85 plus $5 for materials

PRINTING ON PAPER AND FABRIC WITH FOUND OBJECTS
Instructor: Patrizia Fereria
Description: In this 2-part course students will learn to create stamps and stencils using materials and elements that can normally be found in the trash. They will learn how to use these stamps to create patterns on paper and fabric. In later stages, students will learn to customize their pieces using other disposable materials to create dimensional effects.
Date: Tuesday, November 10 and Thursday, November 12
Time: 6-8pm
Cost: $35 plus $5 for materials

BASIC BOOK STRUCTURES
Instructor: Emily Dings
Description: In this class, you will learn basic bookmaking skills that can be applied to both simple and complex book structures. Using minimal supplies, you will see how easy it is to make books using everyday items around your house (or from the Scrap Exchange!) Participants will make three books using adhesive and thread bindings and will come away with a better understanding of gluing, folding, and assembly techniques that will lend a polished appearance to any book project.
Date: Tuesday, November 17
Time: 7-9pm
Cost: $12

INTRODUCTION TO HAND TOOLS - BUILD YOUR OWN TOOLBOX
Instructor: David Rogers
Description: Create and finish projects faster by building on the knowledge of basic hand tools you already have. Learn how to get more out of your everyday tools by using them effectively. In this two-part class, participants will learn to use tools like the Japanese hand saw, combination square, chalk line, and more to design and build a customized toolbox out of materials at The Scrap Exchange.
Date: Tuesday and Thursday, December 8 and 10
Time: 7-9pm
Cost: $40
