Juried Cash prize art shows!

The mission of Metro Café & Art by Benetez is based on the position that all experiences are a form of creativity. Our objective is to enhance a much needed awareness and appreciation of art forms and artwork in NC. We present art forms and activities that provide creative and professional opportunities for emerging and underrepresented professional artists; and offer an alternative art venue for citizens in the local community.

Overview of Exhibition:
Metro Café & Art by Benetez will be exhibiting artist every month for juried group shows August 16th, September 13th, October 11th, November 8th, and December 13, 2008. Each show will consist of artist around the NC area show casing there talents. There will be prizes given to the top 2 runner-up artists. The best of show will receive a cash prize of $150.00 that night of the opening show. All artwork selected for each show will be displayed for the duration of the entire month.

Submission guidelines:
Work Samples:- 1 page artist statement, including contact information
- 1 page image list with: artist name, title of work, size, medium, and year.
- up to five jpgs with online submissions. Mail submissions CD-ROM with images labeled according to image list provided. All materials should be clearly marked with the artist's name and title of work. There will be a submission fee of $10.00 usd. for up to 5 pieces of art. Each additional piece submitted will be $5.00 usd.

*Artist may submit to different shows as well. But must list show dates they plan on applying for and proper submission fees for each show.

Artists will be responsible for the transport and shipping of artworks to and from the gallery unless this is a significant hardship for the artist. Artists are to bring or ship their work to Metro Café 5 days prior to each show date. Artists are to pick up artwork on the 30th of each month. In such cases, please indicate in your application what type of financial or other support would be needed to realize the proposed project.

Metro Café & Art by Benetez will make every attempt to safeguard submitted materials, but cannot be responsible for loss or damage. Never send master copies of artwork. Provide a SASE with sufficient postage for the return of materials (optional).
