Protection Engineer
Need to have sufficient background in Relay Protection work. Specifically programming of Relays such
as parameters, timing, and even more importantly, fail-over and transfer schemes
Contract Duration: 6 months
Location:Wendell, NC
Position Scope
The Raleigh, NC facility is looking for a Protection Engineer to support
the Siemens customers in the design and development of protective relay
systems and applications that incorporate Siemens protective relay
products. Develop new application solutions with IEC61850. Technical
support and troubleshooting on protection relays questions. Provide
protective relay product training.
Specific Job Responsibilities
* Development of protection applications and schemes
* Interface with customers, including trouble shooting and commissioning
support
* Provide technical back-office support for the sales/proposal
organization
* Technical customer presentation on relays
* Technical customer support on Siemens protection relays
* Train regional salespersons in relay products and applications
* Conduct training classes on protection relays
Required Skills
* BS degree in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering
* Technical knowledge of numerical protection relays and applications
* Development of Protection Schemes and Logic Diagrams based on
Technical Drawings
* Solid knowledge on at least one of the following vendor's relay
products and associated software packages: Siemens/GE/SEL/ABB
* Prior experience inside the power industry
* Adept with Microsoft Office Applications
* C Programming Language experience

* Panel Design and Test
$140 Per Diem will be paid seven days a week ($980/weekly) if candidate lives outside a 50 mile radius from work location.
