Senior Power Supply Design EngineerMaker of high-end power supplies and subsystems seeking senior SMPS designer with solid background in a variety of topologies.ResponsibilitiesDuties: Develop products from concept through manufacturing and support them to end of life. Design, analyze, review, build, and test power-system and POL concepts for advanced portable equipment. Develop modeling and simulation tools. Participate in multi-organizational working groups in support of OEM organizations to meet specialized requirements. Work with compliance groups to ensure successful completion of certification process. Write Engineering Requirements, Test Plans, Validation Reports. Qualifications Required: M.S. in Electrical Engineering with minimum 5 years’ direct work experience in power-supply and -systems design. Strong analytical background in AC/DC converters and low-cost, high power-density DC/DC converters. Knowledge of various converter topologies, including: flyback, full-bridge, half-bridge, quasi-resonant and resonant designs. Solid foundation in PCB layout, component placement and routing. Able to model and simulate complex circuits. Experience with design of high efficiency, high-frequency magnetics and filters. Experience simulating and merging analog and digital designs and making them work. Understanding of thermal considerations, advanced power packaging techniques, and RF and EMI issues.
