Ossid Corporation, a Division of Pro Mach Inc.,is a recognized leader in the manufacture of stainless steel high-speed thermoforming, horizontal form fill, and seal packaging machines. Manufacturing is located in Rocky Mount, NC – and engineering offices are located in Raleigh, NC.
Primary job responsibilities:
We are pleased to announce that we are seeking a talented mechanical engineer to develop and prepare mechanical designs for this product machinery. Will handle multiple projects concurrently, frequently in a team environment, and will be involved in hands-on solution of assembly issues and field problems.
The candidate for this opportunity should be a motivated, conscientious, collaborative engineer interested in a solid career with a dynamic group of creative professionals.
Technicial Skills:
•Minimum 4 years of proven machine design preferablely in the packaging machinery industry.
•Proficient user of an advanced 3D mechanical CAD package. SolidWorks is preferred.
•Comprehensive knowledge of machine design; drive systems, fabricated parts (understanding of machine shop & welding practices), and pneumatics.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office.
•Good communication skills
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Background would include design knowledge in applications of:
-Machined and Fabricated Parts (including manufacturing methods)
-Shafts, bearings and housings,
-Drive components sizing & design including servos
-Product specific tooling including heating & cooling
-Structural Frame Weldments
-Matched metal trimming
-Systems Design and Integration including:
-Printers, labelers or other marking devices
-Automatic loading and unloading including robotics
-Full line integration and process validation for food and medical device packaging
