Coming Out is defined as 'A revelation or acknowledgement that one is a gay man, lesbian, or a bisexual.'
When someone is ready to come out it can be very hard to even accept the fact that they have same-sex attractions and wants. It can be even harder admitting it to a family member, loved one, or even a stranger. So many people feel confused and scared and feel no one truly understands or will accept him or her.
This group is designed to help you find and communicate with other men and women that face comparable obstacles in their lives. Hopefully, we can knock down those barriers and make it easier for gay, lesbian, and bisexual people to live their lives unguarded and happily. Wherever you are in your coming out stage, we are here to offer social support for men and women.
We are open and welcoming to all members whether you consider yourself 'Gay', 'Lesbian'. 'Bi-Sexual', 'Transgender', or 'Uncertain.' Please feel free to share your Coming Out stories and/or any issues or success you are facing with acknowledging your true self.
We definitely want to reach out to the younger crowd as well. In this society, being a teenager and trying to fit in with peers is hard. However, being a homosexual teenager and lacking acceptance is even harder. Suicide rates are constantly rising with cases of homosexual teenagers. If this group can stop that rate from rising at least 1% we have made progress. So, teens if you need someone to talk to we are here to share our stories, words of wisdom, and support!
We would love to hear from people who are beyond the 'Coming Out' stage and can offer moral support as well. Give us your opinions and tell us how you came out to friends/family. You could also help someone struggling.
