And what I have learned is good roommates you can come home and relax and the bad ones drive you nuts. So I am taking my time on finding a cool roommate and a nice place to live that does not cost too much, since I am not around much.
Pet peeves I hate dishes sitting in the sink and people leaving a mess in the kitchen. And people eating my food. About guests I have a girlfriend who is a flight attendant that when we are in town at the same time she comes over and spends the night which is about 2 nights a week. No live in girl and I don’t agree with girlfriends being there when the roommate is not there. I don’t smoke and have no pets.

First off thanks for the great emails some of you have sent to me. I have been so busy with work and getting ready for another trip that I just haven’t had any time to really see any places. The only spare time I have in NOV to see anything is maybe on the 16,17,18th.
Well if you’re interested in finding out more about me as a roommate let me know and tell me a little bit about yourself. Here is what I would like to know. Or you can just send me a generic email with the details of your place.
• Pictures are a thousand words.
• Where is it? I don’t need to know the exact street and number just crossing streets so I have an idea of where it is. And what’s around it.
• How much is rent and utilities? I would rather pay a flat rate. I am looking at spending 400. no more than 500 in total.
• How many total people living there. Little something about each person. Easygoing or uptight, clean/messy, work early or works nights, age/just something so I can have a feel for the place. Not looking for smokers or hard partying animal houses.
• Any pets. Allergic to cats big time.
• I need a place to park for my vehicle. So when I come home at 11 I have a parking spot not me driving around looking for one on the street.

About you: Male/female (doesn't matter). I don't mind if you are a responsible drinker and by that I don't mean
that you get drunk and do the responsible thing and not drive. I don't want to be around anyone that has the need
to drink. A beer or two after work is something I might expect. Absolutely can't be a smoker as I have allergies
to this. I get along with all animals, so that isn't an issue for me. It would be nice to have someone that I get
along with and can be friends with.

As for length of stay it could be pretty short or a bit longer but definitely I expect this to be less than 1 year due
to my situation. I am looking for a place to live while I am a student teacher and then perhaps a couple of months
beyond that until I find a place to be a full time teacher. With that in mind I can start any point in December or
January 1st. I will most definitely need the place until June but perhaps also through the Summer. Since I can't
predict who will hire me or where I will get hired for the Fall that is why it is up in the air as to exactly what will
happen. I am open to moving anywhere in this state or any of the 38 other states that will except my license to
teach. Enough of that rambling on.

The last note that will comfort any potential housing situation is that I am currently a substitute teacher in Wake
County which means I had a thorough criminal background check. They won't let just anyone teach kids. I also
taught in Lee County where I had a check as well. I will be student teaching in Orange County which means I will
have my third background check. So basically I am saying that I am in no way a criminal since by the time I am
at the new place there will have been three county agencies as well as three times that a Federal system has cleared
me as not being a criminal. One final note about this is not only is it a criminal check but also they also absolutely
check that I am not a sexual offender as well.

As you have seen sometimes I over explain things but I am trying to find a nice quiet place to live and assure you
that I am an honest and quiet man in the process.

A little about myself...
I'm 25, born in Gainesville,Fl, refuse to go to UF. I play music in bands(punk, indie, metal); guitar, bass, and drums. I love music (obviously), I like art too (was a Fine Arts major). I will strum my classical/flamenco guitar from time to time. I am straight, I speak spanish (parents are from Puerto Rico), I love dogs (not cats so much although I can co-exist); I have a dog but don't necessarily need to bring him ("joint-custody" w/ the ex). What else, I am progressive minded, but wouldn't classify myself under either of the fiat parties. I have certain opinions about politics, but have really lost faith in most of it. Speaking of faith, I was raised going to christian churches as a kid (different denominations) and as an adult I am completely opposed to corrupt "organized religion" and do not subscribe to any of it. I don't like watching tv save for a few shows (the office, it's always sunny in philadelphia, modern marvels, nova, frontline, and other education shows). I really want to keep in touch w/ my friends and fam so internet access would be a plus.

As a roommate, I am super respectful of privacy, not intrusive, I party very seldom and usually keep to myself. I'm 420 friendly but will more than likely kindly refuse in partaking. I am not a heavy drinker, rarely in fact do I drink, but I am down to have fun from time to time. I wash my dishes right after I use them and like to keep the bathroom clean and disinfected, somewhat OCD (w/ a little bit of ADD). I am moving slowly to a plant-based diet, removing red meat and most cheeses from my diet (health and ethics), I like to cook. I like to exercise (basketball, soccer, weight lifting, swimming, cycling, rock climbing, jogging, etc) and love it when I have other ppl to motivate me. I can go through lazy fits, but hopefully I will be a busy bee when I move up to NC. I don't like being wasteful, ie- I will bring home leftover napkins from restaurants in hopes to never have to buy paper towels or tp, ketchup packets, etc. I am into recycling, being conscious of the environment, composting, growing one's own food- I think all that is rad. I like DIY culture. I am definitely an environmentalist, but I am not a "global-warming thumper"...

I am eventually going back to Redding, California and I need to save up for ministry school and living expenses there, as Redding is a very difficult place to get a job. We prefer the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area but would be okay with Durham, Hillsborough, Raleigh, Cary, etc. Willing to work with us on not so amazing (but not horrible!) credit would be necessary (medical bills when you don't have insurance can be quite a bummer.)

We are a very quiet couple. We do not 'party'. Our typical Friday night consists of Chili's to go and watching The O.C. on dvd. We do smoke cigarettes but ALWAYS outside. An empty house with four or five rooms, a least one functioning bathroom, kitchen and reasonable parking for 7-12 cars would be ideal. We're open to other arrangements also - but we want to be able to separate the spaces and not have to talk over each other. We're looking to rent at the $125 - $200 range, cash in hand.

Our Meetup members are well mannered and not boisterous, and Meetup itself is for people to play roleplaying and boardgames. We want to be able to dress the interior of the house to match the theme of the Meetup - think Halloween party. All decorations are temporary, and the place will be left in the same shape as we found it, maybe a little cleaner :-). We would plan to arrive at 9:00am to decorate, open the Meetup at Noon and play until 11:00pm and be out by midnight. No drinking on the premises or smoking inside will be allowed; we strive for a clean, safe and legal environment for Meetup members.
