I rasped out a giggle for that, 'deed I did, and gently let you off the hook for "anything you could do" before falling peacefully into my morphine-addled dreams...I loved you for trying. You did pretty good, there, and I was satisfied.

I greeted the Solstice and our celebration of it from beneath a haze of narcotics and pain, and with a prescient, tender bereavement for what I knew would be soon put away with the relics of other holidays past, mementos of our time to be split down to remainders and divided between us after our feasting was through.

It was, I think, this full and simple certainty that allowed me to love you with such tumultuous, sudden expansiveness, and with a persistent intensity that even caught me off guard. I could not have brought myself to let it happen, to free myself to feel it so completely, had our conditions looked “right”.

I was not ready…I don’t know that I am ready yet, whether for you or for anyone else, or if I’ll ever be again…but that night, knowing I was ultimately to be free from wondering “What if we do”, I gave in completely: I just let go.

I knew I would hurt for it later, but it did not matter…and it still doesn’t.

It was a very happy moment for me, one among many others from that time, standing in your kitchen with you as Solstice began.

After some small awkwardnesses, our giggly and uncertain adjustment to the strangeness of it, the small rituals and formal reversals of Solstice tradition had us naked with delight and mischief and desire, submitting to be wreathed for that night. In a ceremony of oak and holly, mistletoe, frankincense and myrrh, and in the bells of our laughter and the mists of our mingled breath, we assimilated to the task of driving back the dark and bringing forth the light.

The burn of the dark spot between my shoulders eventually diminished to a vague glow, then vanished, eclipsed by the white heat of our labor: I could not get enough of you, could not get enough of you…

I grew reverent with a Pentecostal sort of ecstasy. I quaked in strange rhythms and a wild chant burned up through me, ascending from my belly to my throat and spilling over my lips: a wordless wail at the collision of un-dreamed abundance and desperate want.

Anointed in you, I gave myself to ride on the wings of winter’s flight…and how I soared, skirting the flame of the sun’s return, tarrying to balance grandly on a tightwire, dancing on string run between death and birth.

I saw my own vanishing point drawing near, and for it felt fearless and more alive than I had ever been.

When finally you came to be taken into me, my last defense was shattered. Despite all the reasons not to, all I could think about was fusion: xx’s and xy’s colliding, alighting then obliterating the long, winter night that had become resident in me…and for a little while, I forgot about impossibilities.

My joy in you, and in the night’s prescribed reversals, had made me weightless and elevated far beyond the pain and haze. Gravity and seriousness were denied to that night and its revelers, so I was beholden to reach for what I pleased, never mind reason.

How high I flew then, laughing as I looked down at the sharp rocks of love’s tomorrows. Suspended in the clarity of altitude, I knew the fate of it all…and I welcomed it in exchange for the moment at hand.

I grinned, beaming as I watched myself fall for you, knowing there would be no net to catch me, that you would not try to catch me…and the world had never seemed so perfect as it did rushing toward me in that moment.

The sound my bones made cracking upon those rocks was like the Song of Solomon’s refrain, my blood’s flowing, its coda...God blessed the heretic that night, for her own and in her own she was baptized – and saved, oh yes, oh lord yes: she was saved.

I stroked your shoulder and placed my lips against your neck, where I tasted both honey and bitter salt, and there I drank until sleep – and tomorrow - came for me.

She did spend some time writing a longer true story today, as she enjoys writing immensely. She was originally going to post it in the rants section, but didn't like the idea of it being removed even faster than here!

I am going to check the clearing, and to open some files. Who knows: you can not rush the video editing soft where, it will crash, and I didn’t save what I had done even once but I do have others made nine of them… but not lighhouses and beach seines… Hey SKY KING; I jump out… How about you ? back soon…
I was and still am very disappointed… but I feel a little better now. I will have it done and saved repeatedly tonight..

God I wish everything went perfect… you do know how much I miss you right… No metaphor does that feeling justice.. If you want to see me jump you can… I have those videos but thirteen thousand feet is a little more than how high…
I shouldn’t mention it but I swear to you at least Ten wasted hours because I didn’t save it in a file. Its been months since made any videos. The other programs auto saves every so often. A hard lesson that makes me feel a little stupid okay allot stoopid no giirr this time its diirr… Maybe you be at that other home the one that isn’t decorated… Like a clearing in the woods so to speak.

Code in file folders some of it all jumbled like alphabet soup in the bowl and one that like revolved when you messed with it half the page seemed independent from the other half.. Strange… and is flag day already I thought that was in June... Oh well..

Think of it this way. If love is as a deep ocean and while the waters on top have waves and may even be stormy; underneath the surface the water is constant and steady and a

When I park the car I make sure I keep the wheels straight
Driving a diesel (Great advice for me :) )
Good colognes (it's just easier now to keep a cologne sample with me)
Cooking :)
Coffee
Cold and warm feet
Bubble baths
A walk
A movie at home
A foot rub
The tickle of your beard on my neck
The sound of your breath that I listened for at night
Lovely friends now in my life that were a result of your introductions.
Dancing with you in Charlotte and when you took me in your arms for me there was no one else in that room - you took my breath away. Every time I hear some of the Allison Krauss songs... it's you
I ALWAYS wear slippers in the house :)
I wear an extra T-shirt in the cold. :)
and more.. so much more.

My love for you was impenetrable. No soul on this planet could have taken my heart from you. It's very frustrating and difficult to love someone who.. well if you are honest with yourself.; then you know the answers why it would be frustrating.

I wish there could even be good closure. But the pain is deep and you are too stubborn.
I try not to dwell on it. Instead, I must hold onto the good. It's an easier way and sets my soul free.
As the song goes: "When forever's over I won't remember how much I loved you anymore"

Until then... I will count blessing and Lucky me :)
