The Arc of Wake County, a non-profit advocacy agency working with people with developmental disabilities and their families, is seeking a charismatic candidate with musical skills for a part-time Choir Director.
The interested candidate should be available to work 2-3 hours per week and have an interest in music and working with adults with developmental disabilities. Prior experience preferred, but not required. The Director will be leading the M'n'M Singers and will be responsible for:
Teaching music and choral skills to adults with developmental disabilities.
Supervising the activities of volunteers.
Communicating with choir members, guardians and/or group home staff, volunteers regarding changes in rehearsal schedule or requirements, special events, etc.
Responding to requests for performances received through The Arc office.
The choir has been established for about 20 years, rehearses on Monday nights from 7pm - 8pm, usually with a 6-8 week break in the summer, and performs between 8-12 times per year.
