Why do we have to pay to live on a planet that we were born on? Who is it that we are paying to?

Why do we pay with legal tender (worthless paper) instead of lawful money backed by gold or silver?

When we are charged for a non-violent crime such as posession or manufacturing, then who is the victim? Who is the plaintiff? Where is the jury? What is the damage?
If the Judge and procecuter both represent the STATE, then how can you get a fair trial when there is a conflict of interest?
