JOB TITLE: Service Operations Analyst (temp to perm)
Location: Bellevue, WA
About the Service Operations Analyst opportunity:
As a Service Operations Analyst they would be monitoring the health and stability of Motricity’s production environment 24x7 365 days a year.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Rapid response and restoration of Motricity’s production services.
2. Document and track incidents
3. Monitor and troubleshoot applications, systems and network incidents.
4. Serve as incident manager during major incidents
REQUIREMENTS:
Functional/Technical Skills:
• 1+ year’s experience in a large-scale, heterogeneous data center environment (preferably Solaris, Linux, SuSe, NT/Windows2000/2003)
• Intermediate skill with Windows 2000, 2003, UNIX, Linux ,IIS, Tomcat
• Application support concepts such as database driven sites, web services, proxy or cache devices
• Conceptual understanding of TCP/IP, Routers, Switches, Hubs, Firewalls, Domains, DNS, DHCP and Subnets
• Advanced skills with monitoring applications such as HP Openview with Sitescope, Microsoft Operations
• Manager, Mercury BAC, etc.
• Tier 1 & 2 application support of web server systems (UNIX and Windows platform)
• Experience in creating and updating knowledge base or other technical documentation
• Must have very good written and oral communication skills
• Must have very strong customer service skills
• Must be able to learn quickly and apply new knowledge correctly with little time or training
• Ability to work both as a member of a group and as an individual contributor
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced and changing environment is crucial
• Ability to work flexible hours including other shifts and be able to respond in an on-call basis
• Ability to follow established escalation procedures and communicate issues clearly to technical and non-
• technical individuals
