Our act of kindness cost us our home (Grove Park Durham)

Last Feb we rented our home out to a couple who had four boys (now five ). We felt a bit sorry for them because they were not able to find a place to live because no one wanted four kids . We were assured they were well mannered kids and respectful. These people flaunted their Christian beliefs (Which should have been a red flag)
The first rent check was late the second bounced... but they always made good and we did not worry about any of it until they gave notice in Sept. Said they would be out by end of the month Sept turned into Oct which turned into Nov. No rent...only broken promises. We finally got an eviction started and lo and behold they finally moved out, or we hope they did noever called or gave us a key back!. The house was totally vandelized by these people. The filth and dirt they left behind was unbelieveable. The smell of urine and feces when you walked in was horrid. rotting food in the kitchen and the filth left in the microwave oven was sickening. Holes above the fireplace where their wide screen tv hung (funny they could afford that)
They took a carpet that belonged to us, a desk and some artwork.
I guess we were stupid. We tried to be kind, we wanted to give them a break. I am posting this so others who may feel renting a home is easy be prepared .do your work Check work references. Check their receipts for rent and ask to speak to their old landlord. And I have been told by others if they flount thier believe in God and their love of Jesus be prepared for hell. Just check out the photos below and remember do your homework. These are the only photos Ican print that won't trurn your stomach.

I want to tell you all about a new business I am starting, that will be servicing the Raleigh/Durham/Cary area. I am very excited about this venture, and hope to see a few of you as my first clients, and that you will recommend your friends and family that have pets of their own!

The business is Raleigh Pet Cab, and will be in full service as of December 1st, 2009. Raleigh Pet Cab will offer a number of services. Here are just a few examples:

1. Simple taxi cab pick up and deliveries of pet supplies. If you need dog food, fish food, cat litter, hay, horse feed, medications, or toys picked up, you can call Pet Cab with your specific order and where you would like the items purchased and dropped off. This service is available to anyone who is a busy pet parent and has a need for items that they just don't have time to shop for or pick up themselves, but I am also hoping to be able to service the disabled and elderly, who may have difficulty getting to the store or loading up the supplies on their own. Raleigh Pet Cab will be offering discounts to the elderly and disabled.

2. Animal pick up and/or drop off. If you have a pet that needs to go to the grooming salon, vet, doggy day camp, boarding facility, or training class, Raleigh Pet Cab will be offering safe and insured transportation in a vehicle decked out for pet comfort. Moore Square Design Competition - Take Action (Raleigh NC)

Don't let the City of Raleigh build another project that ignores public interest and opinion.

The Moore Square Design Competition winners have already been decided but have not been announced. We have gathered some of the submissions that did not win (and were not honorable mentions) and the jury passed over some stunning concepts. There are details about the competition itself that put its diplomacy in question. The submission guidelines were very loose allowing for some diverse concepts, however the jury was heavily weighted with Landscape Architecture. Only one juror was a registered architect. There was not engineer on the jury and not even an artist even though Moore Square is the center of the Moore Square Art District. The jury took only 2 days to deliberate and was totally behind closed doors. Did all the jurors participate? What quantifiable elements were used to score the submissions? Were comments recorded for submissions that were not chosen?

Although the winners have not been announced, the City's track record in aesthetic decisions calls them into question. We are taking a stand before the announcement so the public may be poised to launch an all-stop to this project. City Plaza is nearing completion and is nothing more than a $18,000,000.00 eyesore. Its symmetry is wrong, there's no pathway from the plaza to the convention center, the towers are poorly proportioned, the square huts block two building facades , and nothing about it relevant to Raleigh except some stainless steel oak leaves. Some other stainless steel oak leaves (2x the cost of standard steel) adorn the new way-finding signs that were installed. However, one of our local Girls Rock directors is NOT someone for our daughters to admire. I've complained to the board, but, the board is led by...that same poor example's mom. Oops.

Candiates For Clayton Town Council debate the issues of the city, Challenger Russell Cotten, speaking directly to the incumbents, argued that under the council�s current leadership �some communities are lacking.�Cotten said the north-side community, where the Mount Vernon Christian Church associate pastor resides, has been passed over in recent years during the town�s development boom.He said the north side had inadequate access to recreational facilities and pointed to the existence of �port-a-pot� toilets at All-Star Park on Front Street as a symbol of town leaders� neglect of the north side.�If you�ve been here 12 years, or eight years or four, it should dawn on you at some time to actually do something about it�.

My name is Russell Cotten and I am running for the Clayton Town Council. Clayton is a progressive area and a great place to live. I am interested in making positive changes for the Town of Clayton. My platform includes making improvements in the Clayton infrastructure. Several areas in the town do not have sidewalks, which prevents easy and safe access to the downtown area.

In addition, I would like to see increased programs for seniors and youth in our community. Managing the growth of our town and attracting new businesses are areas that are important to me as well.
