Make a difference by helping some of today’s youth take the first step toward bettering their future:

The Durham Literacy Center’s Teen Career Academy seeks tutors in all subject areas to work with students, 16-18, as they prepare for their GED Exam.

Two hour shifts are available between the hours of 9-2 on Mon-Th. Most tutors work 1-2 two hour shifts per week, but we can work with your schedule even if you can only tutor one hour, once a week.

The program provides direct one on one tutoring with each student. They work on one subject at a time, and ultimately complete 5 to get their GED. Help brighten the future's of Durham's teens! The GED opens doors toward jobs and higher education and you can be part of this.

Location-
Tutoring takes place at the John Avery Boys and Girls Club on 808 E. Pettigrew St in Durham, NC. Tutors should be available to come 1-2 times per week to this location for the tutoring sessions.
