We work from home, so it's important to us that we not have loud or bass-heavy music/tv (because bass cuts through the floors), barking dogs (and some people don’t realize how much their dogs bark when they're gone), loud voices, or other ongoing distractions. Of course a little noise once in a while is ok (I can't promise you'll never hear us), but if sound becomes an ongoing issue, it's not going to be a good match. Better to establish that sooner than later, right?
Another thing to be aware of is that we have 3 outdoor cats who might frolic in your yard and try to befriend you, so we want someone who is cat-friendly.

*1 bedroom, 1 bath; it's the bottom unit of a cool old two-story house converted into a duplex. We live upstairs but you’ll have your own entrance and there isn’t any shared space.

*Located conveniently near downtown, the belt-line, Hwy 40, 440/Hwy1, NCSU campus, the greenway, and Lake Johnson.
*A yard with space for gardening (we garden a lot). My understanding is that you are responsible for mowing your part of the yard or that this can be handled by the owner for a fee. Be sure to clarify this with him beforehand.
*Covered porch, trees, flowers, a creek, a surprising amount of wildlife for somewhere inside the beltline (it's the creek).
*Quiet pets are allowed with a fee.
*No smoking, including out front.
*No loud or floor-penetrating music or noises. We work from home and need it quiet. Seriously.
