Measurements: Approximately 12" high and 7.5" in diameter. It weighs 5.13 lbs.

Condition: This jug has a hairline fracture on the base of the handle, encircling it. It does not go through and feels sturdy, but I would not hold the jug by its handle. There is a cork but it has sustained damaged.

Also offering another 12" Stoneware Jug with "Frank B. Norton Worcester Mass" inscribed.

Local pickup only. In South Durham but can meet centrally.

History: Frank B. Norton moved to Worcester, Massachusetts and began a small pottery business in 1858. He worked with Frederick Hancock under the business name F.B. Norton & Co from approximately 1858 - 1879. In 1868, Norton and Hancock patented a mill for grinding clay to create abrasive grains, one of a few they continued to create over the years. In 1879, Hancock retired and in 1885, Norton retired.
