I have TWELVE, limited edition Prints of a famous woodcut done of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill circa 1820 by Francis Jones Hooper.
Francis Jones Hooper was a 16 year old Bride of William Hooper, an 1809 Graduate of the university who later became an Ancient Languages Professor at the University.
These prints are a must have for the UNC Chapel Hill Collector and Alumni for several reasons.
This woodcut was introduced to me as an undergraduate in the 1990s when I participated in the bicentennial of the University in 1993.
During this time, this woodcut was used during the bicentennial and graduates even had the option to use the woodcut in their class rings.
In addition, these prints hung at the Carolina Inn, the only Inn on the Campus of UNC Chapel Hill.
They prints are framed in Burl Walnut Frames and were hung throughout the Inn for the past 20 years.
The frames are high quality and made in Italy.
The prints also have a brief history of the Woodcut printed below the silhouette.
This would be an ideal gift to a UNC Alumni in your life or in your office or home!
