This bike was recently donated to the Durham Bike Coop, https://www.durhambikecoop.org/. Schwinn has been making bikes of all types since 1895. They met serious competition in the 1970's from the lightweight racing bikes coming from Europe. Schwinn responded with a number of great bikes in the 70's & 80's like the Paramount, Peloton, Super Sport, and the Circuit.
This Schwinn Circuit appears to be nearly all original, right down to the tires. Columbus SL frame with aero fork and seat stays. Matte black paint with chrome stays. Suntour Sprint crank, derailleurs, shifters and pedals. Dia-Comp Royal Compe brake calipers and levers. Cinelli bar and stem. Wheels are Sansin hubs and Wolber rims with a Suntour Winner Pro 7 speed freewheel. The Schwinn Pro Circuit tires are original and the bar wrap may be as well. The saddle and seat post are not original, but close to the era.
Also included are a Paramount bottle cage and a Paramount cycling computer. This computer was only made for a few years and working examples currently go for about $45 on ebay. It takes two batteries, which are dead, so its not clear if the computer works or not.
The bike has very few miles on it. The frame and wheels are in very good structural condition. The paint has a few scratches but otherwise looks great. The chrome is good, but not great. Everything else appears to be in good working order. The bike is generally rideable but should be lubricated overall and tuned. The original tires, probably 39 years old, should not be used for riding.
