This time capsule from 1969 exhibits stunning curb appeal and is top mechanical condition too! She is just beginning her second half century being only fifty-five years old. Made by Puch in Austria, a leading European maker in the era when bicycles were built to last lifetimes up to a hundred years. Imported by Sears she is listed as the "lightweight" in the 1970 catalog.
We have her looking her best and running superbly after our deluxe vintage bike servicing (see Remarks).
Low mileage evidenced by minimal wear on pedal treads, nearly flawless chrome, and none of the typical damage often found on used bikes like dented rims. The original chain was replaced for cosmetics, not wear. A German-made Sachs Torpedo internal gear hub ticks like a clock and has a powerful adult-strength coaster (foot) brake too. She has some nicer details such as fluted seat stays, textured French rims, and a perfectly fitted factory rack with spring clip. All proving she was made prior to the cost-cutting reductions that began in the mid 1970's.
As the chain does not have to jump sprockets to change gears, the trigger shifts are easier and faster than derailleur bikes - ideal in city traffic. We will share with you how to operate and maintain a precision vintage 3 speed plus give a few safety tips unique to them at your showing and test ride.
Fits rider heights ~5'6" to 5'10". Price firm, cash only.

We are a private home workshop that buys and restores vintage, road, mountain, hybrid, and children's bicycles. We perform disassembly for parts inspection, cleaned & polish every piece, and relubricate; gear hub is uses hypoid gear oil (90W) to keep the mechanism working smoothly and gears shifting nicely. Brakes, steering, drive, gears all tuned up!
According to my experience and an AI answer, Puch bicycles were "considered of high quality in the 1960s"...and "were praised for their build quality and were often regarded as superior to their British rivals during that time". I have to agree and once you ride her you might too... you may not believe bikes this age can still ride so nice. We're amazed too yet we've restored some in their seventies that came out as good as if they were made yesterday, esp. premium European brands like 1950's Rudge, Pashley, Puch, & others.
