Shimano Altus Hyperdrive Compact-C cranksets have alloy arms and long-wearing steel chain rings. Ours are low wear, low mileage examples. Pedal and puller threads are good, tested. Bottom bracket NOT included (a 115 mm spindle was common on the 1990's Treks).
We have three sets available:
a. 170 mm, 42-34-24T
b. 175 mm, 42-34-24T
c. 170 mm, 38-32-24T w/ over shift guard
Remarks:
While 1x drivetrains are currently popular, 3x has advantages:
- lower cost cassette and freewheel replacements
- faster, larger gear reductions
- less scrolling thru gear shifter
- balances the shifting chore between both hands/wrists/thumbs -rather than overstressing one
- longer lasting chainrings since the wear is shared
