I’m not negotiable since it is a very rare car to find in the running and driving condition it is in and it’s on the road and legally registered. It runs quiet.
I’m selling it to complete other projects that I have.
Feel free to look at other vehicles on CL that are much more expensive and needs a lot more work like a transmission or engine or formerly wrecked.
I have driven it on and off throughout the last few years since it’s a 1st year of production R/T model. I haven’t seen another one online for sale.
It is car show season and it’s about being “different” than the others, this certainly qualifies.
i am not far away from the hwy 42/50 area where sheetz and food lion is located and will drive the car there if necessary
Inspection isn’t until November 2026 and all pics taken recently, current mileage is 166,,718 and will change with random use as needed…
I have a replacement title in hand because I don’t know what I did with the original one I had, as it’s been long ago.
its very straight car , no accidents reported with it...this car has plenty of power when you hit the gas..it’s not for your inexperienced driver.
This car has always been in NC and was originally sold in the lake norman area north of charlotte. I am the 3rd owner of this car and i have had it for the last 18 years. I used to bring it to different car shows over 5 years ago..before life got in the way and i transferred jobs, than it sat more than use.. It was mainly my backup car if anything went wrong with my current one. it was always reliable for me
i am not desperate to sell it since....
this is a 26 year old vehicle, 1st year of production R/T and quite a rare find nowadays..so keep that in mind especially since its an accident free, fully running and driving car still on the road.
the good...
its not as pretty as it once was for charcoal pearl metallic paint but the theme of most car shows it to have something you rarely see. this would be a good easy project for any father/son/mother/daugher as the car is
1)running and driving with fairly new tires on it with less than 1,200 miles on them ($615.75)
2)the battery is brand new with a 3 year warranty, and an upgraded 800cca, factory is 650cca (the old one was 6 years old) , it always started and ran...($180.00)
3)new wipers ($22.00)
4)and the next synthetic oil change is in 2,000 more miles.
5)inspection just done in November and easily passed ($32.00) ... i take it out around town 1- 2x a month with light errands so the new tires don't develop flat spots from sitting too long..
6)the air conditioning and heat works!
7)i replaced the interior drivers side and passenger door handle with a new aftermarket replacement ($27.00) as it was a problem with the oem clip tab breaking. I have replacements for the other 2 doors ($74.00) and not yet installed (the mfg said you had to buy a whole new door panel instead)
8)the car also has the rare auto stick transmission, its fully automatic till you put in past the D in the back Manual position, you then can slap shift it left(downshift) or right (upshift) to change the gears
9)it has the temp use spare tire in the trunk (never used btw)and all tire changing equipment is in it..
10) the radio and factory amplifier still works
11) the cruise control still works
12) the car still runs and drives quiet (no blue smoke when driving either)
13) the transmission shifts beautifully still.
14) all exterior lights including the driving lights work 100%
15) the automatic door locks/trunk/factory alarm remotes are fully functional
16) i had an electrical automotive buddy of mine install a separate cigarette lighter socket above the shifter in the storage pocket (to trickle charge the battery adapter) and use it for phone/gps/ charging ($75.00)
17) lots of parts are available for this car still and not too hard to find..
18) lots of online forums and clubs to join and show off your ride....
19) and the drivers side seat is power only the passenger front is manual as it came from the factory
20) tall adults can easily fit in the back seats
21) it has a large trunk area with the factory cargo net still there..
22) the headlights and driving lights was recently polished…($50.00)
23) New upper Gates radiator hose was installed ($56.00) on 12/28/23 as part of preventative maintenance/inspection.
24)New front struts, front wheel hubs and CV joints was installed last year Jan 28 2024 ($928.00)
now for the tire kickers just because i'm the honest type and you don't waste a trip or my time..
1)the sunroof used to slide all the way back as one option and tilt rearward. some places say the grease dries up and it has to be scraped out and regreased. The sunroof motor motor would also need to be replaced due to age, it doesn’t leak.
the headliner is not perfect for a vehicle this old and needs to be replaced. New headliner Kits and ATC sunroof motors can be found online . It’s ideal to get the sunroof operational first since the head liner has to be removed first
2)the clearcoat started to peel and crack from the hot carolinas sun and its not uncommon to see that being 26 years of age, some of the clear coat was removed and primer /cheap spray paint put over it to protect the rest..a paint shop quoted just under $1,000 for a sand and respray with warranty. It can be done in any color you would like.
3) the interior is showing some spots of fading, a few small cracks are in the dash pad (consistent with age). I do have black fabric and a simulated grey snakeskin/alligator skin that can be used if you want something different.
4) the 2 back door windows sometimes decide to work, (i did not look into the wiring as thats the most likely cuprit somewhere)
5)the speaker foam is non existent due to age, so you cannot get good BASS, they do make replacement foam kits for the speakers found online and most change the stereo systems nowadays
6) a few lights that illuminate the dash need to be replaced but not a problem when driving
