Extensively rebuilt. The chassis was stripped bare, triple-chrome plated and re-silkscreened. Transformers repainted, clear coated and now sit on rubber pads. New rubber chassis feet. HV power supply capacitors replaced with new, exact replacements. Signal capacitors replaced with new Orange drop polypropylenes; the input cap is a Wonder cap. The fuse holder is new and each chassis now has an AC power switch and input voltage selector switch. Original MOVs replaced with a pair of new larger ones. Output tube sockets were replaced with gold plated ceramic types. Chassis rivets were replaced with hand-turned fancy brass screws. New matched KT-88 output tube pairs (TAD). NOS small signal tubes. All voltages on spec and all the original carbon comp resistors remain, except for a couple that had gone way out of spec. Beautiful to look at and sound better than new IMO. Very heavy, ~ 38 lbs each. No tube cages, no boxes. Cash and carry only. If you want to build a classic tube stereo system from the best McIntosh years, these may for you. There is also a fine MR71 FM stereo tuner to go along with it for a great package deal. Get in touch with me to arrange a viewing at my home.
