One of the better quality and performance boat anchors of the '70s. Purchased about 20 years ago, everything worked. Unpacked it last week, brought it up slow with a variac and voila.... voices. I don't have an accessible antenna or dummy load, so I am not going to test the output. I have the finals shut off using the switch on the rear and the one on the front panel. I used a 10 ft piece of wire for an antenna and remembered why I purchased this unit... It's sensitive and extremely easy to dig a station out of the background noise. Listened to stuff from up and down the eastern half of the US during this past field day. A Guy sitting in a parking lot in Northern Vermont sounded like he should be in NC or VA. Very easy to target a frequency and stable once there. While testing it, I tried some other receivers with SSB capability and found the 2020 easier to use with audio that was always clearer on marginal signals, using the same antenna on both.
So far, I didn't find the interconnect cable for the external VFO. Sure it's in a 'safe' place. Packing for a move so hopefully I'll discover it.
Let me know if you have any questions.
