We are huge animal advocates and Independent Rescuers called TEAM GARNER, who have been tirelessly looking for 16+ illegally dumped spayed/neutered and microchipped indoor cats from the Cumberland County Animal Shelter since Thanksgiving 2016. They were being fostered by a woman living in Willow Spring, NC, in Johnston County, Tamara Perez-Lazaro (Griffin, Griffen, and many other aliases), who had her boyfriend, Terry Ray Beasley, who got out of jail in Johnston County, move in with her and he hates cats, so they loaded them into his car and threw them out into the FREEZING COLD WINTER TO DIE! (4) were dumped at the Community Baptist Church at 617 Cornwallis Road, Garner, NC, and all of the others were dumped at the bridge at I-40 on Cornwallis Road and we have successfully and safely trapped and rescued 11 of them. We had a Christmas Miracle and trapped our cat, Wally, and Jada was found on January 30th. Unfortunately the 12th, Sugar, was found dead a couple inches away from our trap on February 2nd, and Polly was safely trapped and found on February 26th. Many of the ones we found early on were in the vicinity of Olive Drive and Hillcrest Drive residential developments.

The Most PAWesome News in FURever! We found out today that one of the 5 that has still been missing has been FOUND! ACHILLES!! He is SAFE and he has been living with a family for quite a while off Galaxy Drive and Josephine Drive in Garner. That's off Cleveland Road! Way far away from where they say they dumped them out of their car! He just walked up onto their porch because he was so cold and had never been outside and wanted to be taken care of! He goes in and out and sleeps in bed with them and he's a good 13 lbs. He had some kind of injury on his neck, so when they took him in for that, they then discovered that he had a microchip, (they all are registered with PetLink and PawBoost), and the Vet contacted PawBoost, who then contacted us! We're all so very happy about this news and it has given us even more hope that the other 4 are still out there, hopefully just in someone's home!❤️🙏❤️
The 4 that are still missing are:
Chomper (Rosie) - (Female cat - Spayed and microchipped.) Her real name is Rosie, but she comes to Chomper because we were told she was nicknamed Chomper because she likes to eat a lot.
Frogz - (Male cat - Neutered - No microchip. - He's one of the family pets of her son's girlfriend who was living there with them at the time.)
Prissy - (Female cat - Spayed - No microchip. - She's one of the family pets of her son's girlfriend who was living there with them at the time. We were also told that if she got outside she likes to climb trees and hang out at the top because she's afraid of anyone else besides her family members.)
Sasha - (Female cat - Spayed and microchipped.)
Frogz and Prissy were the family cats and were the ONLY ones who weren't microchipped yet, but they were neutered and spayed.
To help us out, please, if you do find a cat that looks like one of ours, please take him/her to a Vet, any Vet, to have them checked for a microchip. It's FREE and if it's not one of ours, it could be someone else's pet. But, if they're not spayed/neutered, unfortunately they're not one of ours.😥
We worked nonstop tirelessly every day, trapping, taking care of a feeding station and handing out flyers, for months and months, but had no more luck in finding the last 5! We asked and begged for help in handing out our color flyers to all of the residents in this very large area off Cornwallis Road and Cleveland Road, but never got enough people to help us out. The other main and recognizable roads worth mentioning are Shiloh Road and Old Drug Store Road, Olive Drive and Hillcrest Drive Subdivision. We are a very small group and we really needed new volunteers to come out and help us, but it never happened. So we decided to run this ad instead because we did this for over 6 straight months by ourselves and there are over 6,000 residents in this area alone. And there's a great possibility some of our cats might be in people's houses because they are very friendly and have never been outside before this! And actually, a couple of them at the very beginning of December 2017 were in people's homes. They were scratching at their doors to come in! Every cat we have rescued we got them fully checked out and have successfully adopted every one of them out. So, if you do have one of our cats and you do want to keep them, we just ask you to let us come and take a picture of him/her and get them checked for a microchip because this was a criminal case we were working with, and we will have to do some simple adoption papers to make it legal. At this point, we're hoping they're in people's homes safe and sound and not out there scared to death or worse, dead.
Please, won't you help us? It's easy. Some people that have contacted us in the last few months are helping us by posting our color flyer and the pictures of our missing cats on the NextDoor app for their neighborhoods in Garner. If you could do that for us, we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for anything and everything you can do to help us. The last court date for them was on Monday, June 26, 2017, and they had all charges against them dismissed for time served! We were told they weren't going to get any jail time, but possibly 4 years of supervised probation and possibly community service which was never going to be enough for what they have done to these PURRecious and innocent cats, but they ended up getting nothing at all! They are now free to have animals again and there's nothing we can do to stop them!
If you can help us in any way, we would greatly appreciate it.
Here's an online article that'll give you more in depth information on what has been going on with this criminal case and the severity of it:
If you can't help us, could you please ask others and pass our information around? We would greatly appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you in advance for anything you can do to help us bring these PURRecious and innocent cats home safely!❤🐾❤
