Hi! My name is Tober and I am a recent transplant to the Durham area from Colorado. I'm a grad student studying jazz at NCCU and I've been playing and teaching the drums for many years. You can check out my website for more info if you'd like: www.ToberSchorr.com

I specialize in teaching kids as their first teacher, but I also like to work with adults and advanced students too. I focus on teaching songs and often accompany my students on the piano (I also teach basic piano lessons). I think the most important skill for drummers is listening by learning to play with other musicians, so offering them a chance to play together with me every lesson is both fun and instructive!

I have a music studio in my home, or I am also happy to travel to you (in the Durham area) for a small additional travel fee. Of course you need at least a kit (and preferably a keyboard or piano) in order to have the lessons in your home.

Please get in touch to discuss lessons! Currently enrolling students for the semester. I also offer virtual lessons online for people anywhere in the world (I currently have some online students from Colorado who have stayed with me through the move).
