THIS GREAT LIGHT FIXTURE PROVIDES:
LOW COST
This light costs $100 or more less than comparable wattage grow lights.
I made these lights with parts I had left over from a line of fluorescent light fixtures I used to manufacture. And I use ultra high output modules that have 4 LEDs across instead of the normal single row configuration. This maximizes the light per module to reduce material costs and lets me pass on the savings to you while eliminating the middleman.
LOTS OF LIGHT
Plants are designed to grow under high levels of natural illumination. Without enough light, plants get thin and spindly as the elongate “reaching for daylight” They grow stalk instead of setting leaves. This powerful light was designed to replace intense sunlight and thereby generate lush, compact growth.
432 REAL WATTS
The total amount of light an LED fixture produces primarily on it’s actual wattage. This fixture uses 432 watts and produces the corresponding amount of light. A lot of grow lights are sold by liars. They will say that their light is “2000 watt” when it only has the light output of an 18 watt led light bulb. Others use “scammy” advertising where they compare their fixture to a high wattage incandescent light bulb. While old fashion incandescent lights use a great deal of electricity (watts) they don’t produce much light per watt of electricity they use.
ILLUMINATION FOR TALL PLANTS
Typical grow lights are really only good for plant starting. As plant’s grow, you raise the grow light up. The lower leaves get too far away from the LEDs to get enough light. This light has the additional power to illuminate from the bottom to the top of your plants.
EVEN LIGHTING
This 4’ fixture spreads light out to give uniform illumination. This allows you to hang the light fixture as close as possible to the plants to increase light levels – This is the key to getting good growth: Mount the grow light as close as possible to the plants.
That’s easier to accomplish with a physically larger grow light like our 4’ fixtures. If you use, for instance, a small square light fixture, you will get a small hot spot directly underneath the fixture. But there won’t be much light off to the sides. This forces you to raise the light fixture up to spread light out. The further you get from the light source, the dimmer the illumination becomes.**
HEAT ENERGY FOR PHOTOSYNTHESIS AND GERMINATION
Plants need both light and heat energy. Plants absorb heat energy from the environment during the “dark phase” of photosynthesis. The rate of photosynthesis varies with leaf temperature with the optimum temperature being about 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Light that is not directly absorbed by the plants’s chloroplasts (photosynthesis engines) helps heat the plants or the soil around them.
