The neck is slim and fast. The neck has a satin finish and the shape is a shallow C - I think it feels similar to Gibson's slim taper shape.
The guitar was purchased new at Harry's in Raleigh. It's been in my family for its whole life.
There are no breaks or repairs. No pickups installed past or present.
It's set up great. It plays great. It sounds great. Controlled bottom end with piano like mids and highs. It's crisp with no brittleness. Exceptional note separation.
The jumbo body is comfortable and ergonomic sitting or standing - it plays smaller than it sounds.
Action is low and fast the whole way up. Fret life is good - it has never been leveled or crowned. Moderate visible wear in the first position, but nothing that impacts performance. A level and crown is not needed, but might be desired depending on the player.
The finish shows play wear on the top in normal places - bass side by the neck joint, treble side below the sound hole.
Finish also had small spots of checking/lifting on the back and at the neck joint - it's not entirely uncommon on these early Taylor's (this one is 27 years old after all).
The interior shows small dark brown speckles - that is my blood because I have often kicked-ass while playing this guitar.
You will also kick ass while you play this guitar.
It's priced competitively against online listings for a local sale.
Pretty uninterested in trades. I'd consider Gibson Les Paul Jr's & Special's.
