For sale: A gorgeous, lightly used 2023 Epiphone Les Paul Custom with an ebony finish, gold hardware and an ebony fretboard, serial number 23081530510. (It's based on a vintage Gibson model that, for one example, Steve Jones used on "Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols.")
When I say "lightly used," I mean it's been played at less than a dozen practices and gigged once, at a club. It's lived for a year-and-a-half in a smoke-free home, in a nice Epiphone case that I'm including for free because it's the holiday season.
It's in excellent condition, no major scuffs or dings. The neck is straight, the action is low, and the electronics work as they should.
Specs:
• Mahogany body
• Modern Medium C-shaped mahogany neck
• Ebony fingerboard with pearloid block inlays and 22 medium-jumbo frets
• A Tonerider Vintage 90 pickup in the neck position (7.6k, Alnico 2)
• A Seymour Duncan Vintage SP90-1b pickup in the bridge position (9.7k, Alnico V)
• Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece
• Grover Rotomatic tuners with 18:1 gear ratio
• Gold hardware
• Kalamazoo headstock and Graph Tech nut
The original Epiphone ProBucker Custom Humbuckers will be included in the case, if you prefer those. I recommend giving the upgrades a chance. The Tonerider Vintage 90 neck pickup is one of the best aftermarket bargains I've found. The clarity is superb. The Seymour Duncan bridge SP90 is the gold standard, in my opinion. All the snarl and growl you'd want (AWESOME with some overdrive), plus some nice sparkle on arpeggiated cowboy chords.
I love this guitar. The only reason I'm selling it is because I've become obsessed with my Squier Jazzmaster, of all things, and that's all I play these days. As for this Les Paul, I hate to see an amazing guitar go to waste. And I love the idea of someone, maybe a young person, picking this guitar up and getting some profound joy out of playing it.
My price is $600, cash only. No trade offers, please. I don't need any more guitars. ;)
