New B stock Dyson 000-12. Super tight grained Western Red Cedar top with a nicely figured Claro Walnut set of back and sides. B stock because of a crack in the driver side upper bout. Nicely glued and cleated before finish and invisible now.
Great punch and sustain from this guitar. Note separation is good, immediate notes and direct sound. Not super bloomy. But not as mellow as most cedar guitars I've played in the past. Louder than you think it should be.
Setup with mediums. Super low action, 2.5/32 low e and 2/32 high e at 12th fret. Could easily go back to lights if that's your preference. Can handle some flat picking with the mediums. Bone nut and saddle. 24.9" scale length, Martin Short. 1 13/16" nut width for larger hands or fingerstyle playing. 2 3/16" at the saddle. Waverly ebony bridge pins.
Ebony fingerboard. Brazilian rosewood bridge and head cap. Binding is Ziricote wood. Braced with hand split red (Adirondack) spruce. Schaller M6 mini Gold tuning machines. Two way truss rod. All the woods used are old and seasoned over 20 years.
I've been building over 25 years now. Went to Roberto Venn in 2001. Built for Huss and Dalton for 5 years after that. Been building a few a year ever since. Come by my shop and check it out. Bring your guitar and play them side by side, I'll think you'll be impressed.
Thanks.
Willing to entertain trades for other luthier made guitars or old Martin or Gibson. Sequential synths too.
