This is a (hard-to-find in the USA) Fernandes with a built-in 3 mode Sustainer, made in Japan 1991 or 1992. Everything works and it has been setup professionally.
Upgrades:
+Genuine Floyd Rose - New
+Control cavity newly shielded
+Seymour Duncan Bridge PU, 8.43 kOhm, unknown model (see pic)
+Chrome mini toggle knobs
Flaws:
-Dent inside upper horn (see pic)
-Tiny chips around tremolo cavity
-Missing back cover for springs/block
The single piece hard maple neck is very Fender-ish with a 42 mm nut and a lovely dark rosewood board. The truss rod is traditional Fender style single action, accessible by loosening the strings and neck joint (see pic). The original single coil PU has alnico slugs and measures 6 kOhm. This guitar has been set up to float with standard tuning, Strung with D'Addario NYXL 010-052 (would be very suitable for down tuning), intonation, and full fret dressing.
NOTES: The pictured metal pickup ring has been replaced with plastic, which will not interfere with the Sustainer. Also a third spring was added to the two shown. I can set up for D or Eb tuning if desired.
