We recently took in a 2 year old female mini bernedoodle who tore her ACL because the family couldnt afford to fix it and was going to put her down. I told them I would take her for a few weeks and try to find another option for her. She was badly abused as a puppy so can be unsure of new people (especially men) but typically warms up pretty quickly and loves to follow you around and do whatever you're doing. She is running around on 3 legs playing with other dogs and kids like its no big deal.
Ideally we would like to find a family that could fix it or if thats not an option at least a family who would take her and love her for whatever good quality time she has left. She LOVES being outside sunbathing and will bond strongly with someone who is willing to earn her trust.
She is crate trained and about 90% house trained. We have hardwoods and she has not had any accidents here but her family said she would randomly pee or poop on their rugs if they weren't watching her and she hadnt been out in awhile. We havent seen that here but I wanted to give the backstory. She needs to be supervised in the house or outside/crated when she's not being watched. She is not destructive when she's being watched but if you left her out alone in the house without supervision she will try to find trash or something to get into and shred.
She is amazing with kids of all ages and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She is very gentle and loving. She rides good in the car and sleeps in her crate every night without a peep. She listens very well. You dont need to raise your voice at her at all. Shes calm and sweet.
We are looking for someone that can give her a second chance. She was so badly abused that we dont want to put her in a family that wouldn't understand her and would be mean or abuse her when they got frustrated with her. Someone with experience with dogs is a huge plus. If anyone has any leads or would be willing to take in this very sweet girl please let me know. I feel like we are running out of options and this is our last hope!
