Male Boxer mix, approx 6yrs old, neutered, potty trained indoor dog. He is in good health, but has really bad teeth from unknown past. He's up to date on his shots, heartworm negative and on preventative. He is sweet and mild mannered, medium to low energy. He loves to take walks, but will sit on the couch and chill too. He would probably enjoy running if you want a running partner. He's been in our home with kids of all ages from infant to teens. He loves them, but doesn't care for tight hugs. He will give a little warning growl, but nothing more. He will get up and move if they try to lay on him. He does well with other dogs. Once I had training and became the leader in the house, he respects me and will allow my other dog to be dominant. He has had a little food aggression in the past with my other dog, but again once I became the leader, he has not had any problems. My other dog has caused a few fights, because she doesn't like him getting excited and she jumps at him (she does not understand how to play) and he will not back down, also has gotten better with a good human leader. He has crate anxiety. He will chew the crate until he bleeds, but is fine loose in the house and doesn't typically chew anything except the dog pillow. He has storm anxiety. He will not go out in a storm, and sometimes has accidents because of that. He paces during a storm and will try to open doors if they are closed or knock down a baby gate to pace. Again doesn't tend to chew or destroy things; he's just annoying when he's pacing especially in the middle of the night. We got him a year and a half ago from the shelter as a stray and have done some training, but my husband is very annoyed with him still, especially with the storm anxiety in the middle of the night. We have a medically fragile child that will not have his bedroom door closed at night, so when the dog is panting and pacing he wakes him up. We have a lot of kids and don't have enough time to continue to work with him. We just want to find him a great home where he can be happy. He is really sweet. He just needs a little more training.
