A room in my 3-bed, 3.5-bath townhouse will be available for a long-term rental August 1. It's a large room with an attached private bathroom and a walk-in closet. The room is unfurnished (though the current renter is open to selling most of his furniture). The home is in the Thompson Ridge neighborhood, which has a pool, gym, walking trails, and dog park. It's in a great location, 2 miles from Duke; 10 minutes downtown; and about a 2 minute drive from I-85, 147, and 15/501. Most of my previous roommates worked for or were students at Duke: they got there by driving, biking, or taking the bus (the bus stop is 1 block away).

The house has a large kitchen with a gas range, double oven, 2 fridges, and a bunch of appliances + dinnerware. There's an oversized table so there will be plenty of space to eat if you have guests over. The living room has a fireplace, TV, and 2 couches. There is a small backyard space with a patio, couch, table, and grill. The garage has been partially converted into a second living room with an additional sleeper-couch, TV, and some weights. There's also a laundry room with a large washer and dryer.

The bedroom is on the second floor, and my room is on the third floor. Also living on the second floor is a guy who works as a nurse while also studying for a masters in nursing at UNC. I recently installed sound-dampening doors on the bedrooms for additional privacy.

I'm looking for a respectful professional or graduate student as a roommate. That just means you won't leave the shared spaces messy/smelly (I like a clean kitchen), and you can be reasonably quiet if you know a roommate is sleeping. You're welcome to have people over to enjoy the space, but no late-night parties. I've had guy and girl roommates, and either is welcome.

Rent is $950/mo + ⅓ utilities (~$100 per person) with a one month security deposit.
