Redesigned countersinks have chip clearing flutes the entire length of the body, creating a channel to allow chips to clear from even the deepest counterbores.
Countersink bodies are heat treated to R64C hardness for long life.
Four sizes of countersinks bore pilot holes for #6, #8, #10 and #12 straight shank wood screws. Product description numbers specify woodscrew hole sizes in hardwood., e.g. #6 means ideal for #6 screw in hardwood, and it will work well for # 8 screw in softwood.(A convenient size reference chart is included in the set.)
Countersinks have 1/4" hex shanks with a quick release notch on the #6, #8 and #10 sizes. The #12 size has a straight hex shank.
New SlipStop non-marring collars feature a 'window' on each side that aligns with the chip clearing flutes to provide extra clearance to remove drilling waste.
The set includes all four sizes of Cleanstop countersinks, a small windowed SlipStop collar for the #6, #8 and #10 sizes, a large windowed Slipstop collar for the #12 countersink, a hex wrench to mount the Slipstop collars and adjust the drill bit depth and a size reference chart.
