This is a pecision diamond lapidary saw made originally for cutting radio quartz crystals for the soldiers in WW II. The table has precise controls for moving the rock in any direction. Even various angles of the cut can be accomodated. Also, the downfeed of the blade is controlled by a hydraulic mechanism that allows it to come down very slowly or quickly. If you want to cut geodes or crystals or any fine rock specimins with exact cuts, this is the saw for you. One of the pictures is taken from a 1942 film made that showed how they cut quartz crystals to obtain exact frequencies for the radios used by soldiers in the war field to communicate with their base station. The saw is very heavy, maybe 250 pounds, so this is not a cheap rock saw by any means. It will last a lifetime and longer. Comes with the the motor which is mounted separately, along with the belt. Asking $1,950 for this very rare precision machine. Of course, it can also be used as a reguler mitering saw with a 5/8" blade in it. Diamond blades made by Felker are still available on Ebay. This saw comes with 3 8" blades made by Felker for this saw. show contact info
